Offered by Erskine Lakes to Skyline Lakes Members
Erskine Lakes Aquatic Club (ELAC) is a competitive swim program for swimmers ages 5 through 18 years old. As a member of Skyline Lakes, you are eligible to participate in this program.

ELAC is a member of the Lakeland Swim Conference of New Jersey, which includes teams from surrounding communities in Morris, Passaic and Sussex Counties. ELAC swims six dual meets on Wednesday nights, three home and three away. There are also two invitational meets on Saturdays in July as well as three championship invitational meets - including ELAC's own "Go for the Gold" Invitational - held on successive Saturdays beginning in July and ending with the "A" Championship Invitational Meet in August. Our season culminates with an end of year Awards Night in which all swimmers are recognized for their accomplishments. In addition to being fun, the program teaches children the mechanics of competitive swimming, good sportsmanship and team spirit. Every child swims in the dual meets. Invitational and championship meets are optional but encouraged.

After a long winter I think everyone is looking forward to some warm weather and to spending long days at the lake. For anyone looking forward to getting fit, it might be a good time to think about joining the swim team for the summer. Swimming is great aerobic exercise and a good way to keep those hockey/soccer/basketball etc. legs in shape. It is great cross-training for all those winter sports. Come make new friends and at the same time improve your strength and endurance.

Our Wednesday night meets are great fun for the whole family. Dinner is available at our kitchen and the kids can play in the sand and cheer for their team between swims. We have three home meets and three away, so you get to check out some other lakes in the area and their dinner menus, too. We also run a Fun Friday and host an invitational meet known as the “Go for the Gold” meet, with teams coming from Morris, Passaic and Sussex counties.

The team practices Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and “Fun Friday” afternoons from 4:15 -5:15 pm for the 10 and unders, and 5:15-6:15 pm for the 11-18 yr olds. Once again we will hold our developmental class from 4:15 -4:45 pm for any children who already have the basics but are not quite ready to compete yet. The developmental program will be four days per week this year - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Stay posted for details of our parent information night and start date for practices. For more information call Sheila at 973-962-9178 or check out our new website at:
