Skyline Lakes Quarterly Newsletter - Spring 2010 Edition
Dear Members and Eligible Members:

This newsletter is going out to all of our eligible members. Your Directors have already been working hard in planning out this New Year. Paying your membership dues on time will allow us to make plans and commitments that were outlined and passed in our budget.

Our new directors are very enthusiastic; feel free to contact them with any questions or help you may want to give. Whether you like to fish, sit and read by the lake, walk your dogs, or swim and play with your family, picnic, or ice skate on our Lakes, our properties offer you a place to be with your family and friends right in your own backyard that some people drive long distances to go to.

SLPOA Executive Director
Jim Martocci
Since 1969 SLPOA has acted through its volunteers to maintain and protect Skyline Lakes and its surrounding properties supported through the dues paid by property owners like you. By continuing your membership, and encouraging new members to join, you help support the Association to continue making planned improvements, and also allow all of us to enjoy the beauty of Skyline Lakes, which is one of the reason’s many of us moved here.

It costs an entire family only .98 cents a day to be a member of our lake community, and be able to use our resources all year long! We have a great Memorial Day weekend planned, and are currently planning our Summer Youth program, which includes swimming lessons for all age groups. We’ve also been researching new beach slides and hope to be putting in an order for one soon. We’ve included in this newsletter an extra blank Membership Application form for your use, or to give to someone you know who might be interested in joining our association.

If you need additional membership information call: Karen Summers 973-839-3961, or print out from our newly revamped and updated website: www.skylinelakes.com, where you can find a lot of useful information. This year again we will again be opening up the lake for the benefit of all eligible members and their families for one week during the beginning of summer to use our lake and facilities for free for a day or two. As an additional note, our Main Beach is a very popular place both day and night for all of our members and their families.

Compared to many of the other Lakes we only have few but necessary restrictions and rules that members are asked to abide by regarding the use of our beach . Starting this year based on feed back from many members there will be No Smoking Allowed on the Beach. We will have designated smoking area’s set up for smokers and we ask for everyone’s cooperation.

Regards - Jim Martocci
The Board of Directors would like to thank all members, who attended, voiced their opinion and voted at the January 9, 2010 General Membership Budget Meeting and continue to give us their support.

The budget, which reflected some improvements we plan to make and funds we plan on allocating, was passed and approved unanimously, 37 families voted. We’ve had many great experiences

Last year of our members and residents helping out and volunteering their time to help us fix or replace things on our properties or in our clubhouse, and run many events. Every cent saved has helped our Lake Association continue to thrive and grow.

These efforts have also helped keep your dues at a reasonable amount. We thank all of our members for your continued support. This year we already starting some necessary repairs and improvements, we replaced the bathroom and snack bar doors, with new doors, locks and door saddles and jams.

We also replaced our almost 40 year old rental hall furnace this past winter with a more efficient furnace and replace and relocated some of the vents to increase air flow. The new furnace will help cut utility costs for the clubhouse.
